Electric Actuated Valve
An electric actuated valve uses a motorised actuator for precise, modulating (or on/off) control with fieldbus integration.
What is a Electric Actuated Valve
A reversible motor drives the valve through a gearbox to a positioned setpoint. It integrates with PLC/SCADA over fieldbus and holds position without air supply, at higher cost and slower speed than pneumatic.
Materials & standards
- Reversible motor with gearbox
- Modulating or on/off
- Fieldbus / 4–20 mA control
- Hold position without air
- IP67 enclosure option
Typical applications
- Precise modulating control
- Remote/PLC-controlled loops
- Areas without clean instrument air
- Hygienic and industrial automation
- Slow, accurate positioning duty
Electric Actuated Valve at a glance
| Speed | Slower than pneumatic |

| Fail-safe | Holds position (no spring) |
| Relative cost | Higher than pneumatic |
| Best use | Precise, fieldbus-integrated modulating control |
Frequently asked questions
When should I choose an electric actuator?
When you need precise modulating control, fieldbus integration, or have no clean instrument air; accept slower speed and higher cost.
Does it fail-safe?
An electric actuator holds its last position on power loss unless fitted with a battery/super-capacitor fail-safe option.
How does it integrate with PLC?
Over 4–20 mA or fieldbus; a positioner maps the setpoint to valve travel.
