Sanitary valves are flow-control components engineered for hygienic process lines in pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, dairy, and biotechnology. They are built to eliminate dead legs, withstand repeated clean-in-place (CIP) and steam-in-place (SIP) cycles, and protect product purity from contamination.
KOSA manufactures and supplies a full range of hygienic valves: sanitary ball valves, butterfly valves, diaphragm valves, and check valves. Each type is selected to match the cleaning, flow, and isolation needs of the specific process skid or pipeline.
Selection depends on line size, operating pressure and temperature, cleanability (surface finish Ra ≤ 0.8 µm), actuation method (manual, pneumatic, or electric), and the hygienic standards referenced for your industry. Our engineers help match the right valve to your 3-A or bioprocess requirement.
KOSA sanitary valves are typically built from 316L stainless steel with polished internal surfaces. Designs and materials are selected to reference 3-A sanitary standards and ASME BPE, and materials are chosen for FDA food-contact compliance. (Certification status of specific configurations should be confirmed per order.)
Both provide on/off isolation. Ball valves suit smaller lines and tight shutoff; butterfly valves are preferred for larger diameters and lower cost where a minimal pressure drop is acceptable.
Yes. They are designed for repeated clean-in-place and steam-in-place cycles with crevice-free, polishable internals.

Yes. Manual, pneumatic, and electric actuation options are available across the sanitary valve range.
Tell us about your valve requirements — ball, butterfly, check, gate and sanitary valves. The responsible KOSA specialist will get back to you with a quotation and technical proposal.
